Since 2016, Dr. Robert L. Bertini acted as the director of the Center for Urban Transportation Research. Under his leadership, CUTR received a $7.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to investigate innovative solutions to traffic congestion (National Institute for Congestion Reduction). Fueling future transportation engineers and planners, CUTR awarded $20,000 in scholarships to students at last year’s Transportation Achievement Awards – the largest amount awarded in the event’s history. Dr. Bertini also led a successful study abroad program in the Netherlands focused on sustainable transportation; assisted countless students with homework, papers, and projects; and hosted the best holiday parties for CUTR employees and students.
We wish Dr. Bertini the best as he begins his journey as head of the Oregon State University School of Civil and Construction Engineering! You will be extremely missed! +Read more
