Georgia Brosch Memorial Transportation Scholarship

About the Scholarship

Educating students for careers in transportation engineering, planning, and other disciplines is vital to enhancing the quality of life for our city, region, state, and the nation. To assist in that education, and to help attract the best and brightest to careers in transportation, CUTR has established the Georgia Brosch Memorial Transportation Scholarship, named in memory of the infant daughter of former CUTR Director Gary Brosch and his wife, Barbara.

Scholarship Amounts

• Bachelor’s student: $2,000
• Master’s student: $2,500
• Doctoral student: $3,000

Winners of the scholarship are announced in the Fall and are presented at the annual CUTR Transportation Achievement Awards dinner.

Eligibility Requirements

This scholarship is open to domestic or international students currently enrolled at the USF College of Engineering (Tampa Campus).

Eligible students must:

• major in engineering with the intent to pursue a career in transportation, as evidenced by substantial coursework
• have completed at least one semester at USF
• not be a prior recipient of this scholarship

Application Materials

1. Two-page resume including education, transportation-related coursework, employment history, noteworthy research projects, publications, professional presentations, other professional activities (memberships in societies, offices held, etc.), and other activities as appropriate or desired (community service, hobbies, etc.)
2. One-page written statement (500 words) describing your goals for contributing to the transportation field
3. Unofficial USF transcript showing all coursework with grades by semester and the corresponding GPA and cumulative GPA

2025 Scholarship Recipients
