The Florida Department of Transportation is responsible for planning, building, and maintaining a safe transportation system that provides for the mobility of people and goods. In this discussion, Mr. Hunter will discuss how FDOT District 7, which covers Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties, achieves that mission. Topics will include the types of FDOT facilities, major projects, funding, and how you can get involved in helping FDOT be successful.
Brian Hunter is the Transportation Planning Manager for the Florida Department of Transportation District 7 where he oversees the Metropolitan Planning and Travel Demand Modeling activities. His primary responsibilities are to interact with stakeholders to reach a consensus on regional transportation priorities and coordinate with municipalities to help plan and fund critical infrastructure improvements. He has worked at FDOT for 15 years in the aviation, seaport, and freight fields. He has a bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Western Governors University.
