The Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) participated at the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Bus and Paratransit Conference this month. Lisa Staes, Program Director, Transit Safety and Workforce Development Programs, made a presentation that was well received in the session Safety Management Systems (SMS) – Transit Agency Implementation. She also chaired a great session on Bus Safety Committee Meeting and Safety Roundtable, which included a presentation, FTA Safety Standards Project Update – panelists included Richard Czeck, Director of Safety – Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority and Sheldon Shaw, Safety Manager – Utah Transit Authority. Steve Polzin, Program Director, Mobility Policy Research, presented Navigating the Path Forward in the session Here to Stay: Automated Transit Shuttles and the Future of Mobility.
