I’m the Director of the National Center for Transit Research (NCTR) at CUTR, one of the 22 federally funded University Transportation Centers in the United States. In this capacity I manage the research selection process, review all reports, present results of research, produce annual reports and semi-annual performance reports of the Center’s activities, represent the Center at meetings with federal and state agencies and with peers and partners within the UTC community, develop the strategic plan for the Center and all competitive applications for continued designation as a UTC.

Read more →Dr. Barbeau has served as the PI for multiple research projects investigating intelligent software systems for GPS-enabled mobile phones. Dr. Barbeau has over 40 peer-reviewed papers and conference presentations, and his research interests include intelligent location-based services for cell phones, mobile apps, lightweight data communication frameworks for mobile devices, and mobile application optimization to conserve battery life. He served as a member of a international Expert Group which developed a Java-based software standard for location-aware mobile phones, and has 7 patented inventions and another 8 patents pending in the area of location-aware technology. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from USF as well as a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from USF.

Read more →Jodi graduated from the University of South Florida (USF) with her MS in Civil Engineering with a focus in Transportation Engineering. As a CUTR visiting faculty member, Jodi will continue to work with Dr. Polzin on the Mobility and Policy Team focusing on several Trends and Conditions Reports for FDOT, in addition to some transportation safety work with the Southeastern Transportation Center. Jodi will also be assisting the Transit Safety and Workforce Development Program under Lisa Staes focusing on several transit safety projects.
