Sean Barbeau TDM Research Associate

Dr. Barbeau has served as the PI for multiple research projects investigating intelligent software systems for GPS-enabled mobile phones. Dr. Barbeau has over 40 peer-reviewed papers and conference presentations, and his research interests include intelligent location-based services for cell phones, mobile apps, lightweight data communication frameworks for mobile devices, and mobile application optimization to conserve battery life. He served as a member of a international Expert Group which developed a Java-based software standard for location-aware mobile phones, and has 7 patented inventions and another 8 patents pending in the area of location-aware technology. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from USF as well as a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from USF.
