CUTR has a team of experienced and dedicated personnel who work on a range of transportation-related projects and programs. The center’s staff includes educators, researchers, and technical experts who are committed to improving transportation safety for all road users.

In addition to its core staff, CUTR also works with a network of partners and collaborators in the transportation field. These partners include other research institutions, government agencies, and industry associations. By leveraging the expertise and resources of these partners, CUTR is able to make a greater impact on transportation safety and driver education issues.

Vanessa Wheeler joined the Transportation Demand Management (TDM) team at the Center for Urban Transportation (CUTR) in spring 2017. She assists the TDM team with numerous projects, including public safety education, communications, data gathering, and events. Prior to joining CUTR, Vanessa organized numerous workplace active transportation initiatives to assist fellow colleagues with transitioning to bicycle commuting, has served as a bike commuter coach, and helped co-found a nonprofit bike/ped advocacy organization in St. Petersburg, Florida. Vanessa’s career has primarily focused on teaching and communications. She received her education in fine art and design in Portland, Oregon.
