Stephen Berry, former LYNX Deputy Director of Facilities, Amenities, and Operations, is CUTR’s new Deputy Director of Transit Safety and Workforce Development Programs. His primary areas of responsibility will include both operations and safety and he will manage programs and projects in the following areas: Research, technical assistance, management, and training. Transit bus operations, transit bus safety, transit bus safety oversight, transit bus safety and operational standards and recommended practices, safety management system (SMS) implementation, and transit asset management.
He will be spearheading activities associated with the Florida Transit Safety and Operations Network, FDOT’s new Transit Bus Safety Oversight Program – Triennial Bus System Safety and Security Reviews, and will jointly work with CUTR’s Transit Innovation Group in managing the Florida Statewide Technical Assistance and Training Program. In his spare time, he will lead CUTR’s efforts in technical assistance support to Florida’s transit agencies in meeting the mandates of FTA’s Transit Asset Management Program.
