CUTR has a team of experienced and dedicated personnel who work on a range of transportation-related projects and programs. The center’s staff includes educators, researchers, and technical experts who are committed to improving transportation safety for all road users.

In addition to its core staff, CUTR also works with a network of partners and collaborators in the transportation field. These partners include other research institutions, government agencies, and industry associations. By leveraging the expertise and resources of these partners, CUTR is able to make a greater impact on transportation safety and driver education issues.

Biography

As a CUTR research associate, Jodi works with Lisa Staes on the Transit Safety and Workforce Development Programs focusing on several transit safety and security-related projects, mobility policy, transportation construction cost trends, public transit ridership trends, and training development. Ms. Godfrey’s research experience has afforded her familiarity with many data sources including the National Transit Database (NTD), National Household Travel Survey (NHTS), and American Community Survey (ACS), the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), and more. In addition to her current duties at CUTR, Jodi holds active leadership roles in professional associations, currently serving as the President of the Greater Tampa Bay Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) in 2021. Ms. Godfrey is active in international ITE, as a member of the STEM subcommittee and the Women in ITE Task Force. Additionally, Jodi is the secretary of the Transportation Research Board’s Standing Committee on Transit Safety and Security (AP080), the membership and communications chair for the Tampa Bay Chapter of WTS, the secretary of American Public Transportation Association’s Bus Safety Committee, and a member of APTA’s Safety Coordinating Council. Ms. Godfrey is also a graduate of the International ITE Leadership Class of 2017.
