Ela is a GIS research assistant, with expertise in GIS, spatial analysis, spatial databases, statistics, cartography, GIS online,  and remote sensing. She is currently working towards her PhD degree in Environmental Science and Policy. She holds dual Master of Science degree in physical geography (University of Lodz), and GIS (University of Memphis), and GIS Certificate.
