CUTR has a team of experienced and dedicated personnel who work on a range of transportation-related projects and programs. The center’s staff includes educators, researchers, and technical experts who are committed to improving transportation safety for all road users.

In addition to its core staff, CUTR also works with a network of partners and collaborators in the transportation field. These partners include other research institutions, government agencies, and industry associations. By leveraging the expertise and resources of these partners, CUTR is able to make a greater impact on transportation safety and driver education issues.

Biography

Diana Byrnes joined CUTR in 2003 as a Substance Abuse Management Specialist for the Florida Department of Transportation’s Substance Abuse Management Oversight and Technical Assistance Program.  In this role, Diana performs compliance monitoring, provides technical assistance and delivers training on the topic of federal drug and alcohol testing regulations applicable to safety-sensitive employees in the transit workplace. Ms. Byrnes is also a lead instructor for the Transportation Safety Institute (TSI) course entitled “Substance Abuse Management and Program Compliance”, which she delivers to Florida transit agencies under a Memorandum of Understanding between CUTR and TSI.
