Roberta Yegidis is an affiliate member of CUTR’s faculty. Roberta graduated from the University of Bridgeport, with a BS in Business Administration. Roberta has extensive background in public transportation operations including her most recent position as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority (GBTA). In her role as COO, Roberta was responsible for both fixed route and paratransit, safety, security, and facilities. She implemented an Accident Investigation Program including root cause analysis, and created a System Safety and Security Program Management Plan, covering two (2) campuses. Roberta was ESF 1 Lead, worked extensively with the Office of Emergency Management, participating in both desk top and actual exercises. She also reduced FMLA absences, worker’s compensation and disability claims. Roberta has negotiated union contracts, developed Policies and Procedures, lead FTA Triennial Reviews and has extensive Federal Acquisition Regulation and FTA regulatory knowledge. She is OSHA certified, WSO, Certified Community Transit Manager, Certified Safety Officer, graduate of APTA Leadership and participated in the ENO International Studies Program in Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Taipei, concentrating on bench marking. Roberta provides technical assistance to transit agencies throughout Florida, research, safety and security triennial reviews and SMS training. Roberta is a subject matter expert on public transit safety and security.
