Description
Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) safety applications work only while the roadside units (RSUs) that broadcast them stay online. As grid-powered, network-connected devices installed outdoors, RSUs can drop offline when weather disrupts their power, communication link, or hardware. This presentation will discuss the analysis carried out on the 14-months of RSU communication-status data to test the hypothesis that the weather degrades the reliability of RSUs.
