On October 29, 2024, the transportation community joined together at the University of South Florida to celebrate excellence in transportation and planning. The event brought together industry leaders, innovators, and advocates to honor exceptional achievements that drive Florida’s transportation and infrastructure forward. Among the highlights of the evening were the announcement of the Georgia Brosch Scholarship winners, the CUTR Transportation Scholarship winners, the ELEMENT Engineering Scholarship, the poster competition winners, the New Voice in Transportation Award recipient, and the induction of Joe Lopano into Florida’s 2024 Transportation Hall of Fame. Participants also heard from Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Jared W. Perdue, P.E. Secretary Perdue spoke about Florida’s ongoing transportation projects, evolving mobility needs, and stressed the importance of safety and community.
Joe Lopano, CEO of Tampa International Airport (TPA), was inducted into the prestigious Florida Transportation Hall of Fame. Joe’s transformative leadership has made TPA North America’s #1 ranked airport, setting new standards in passenger experience, innovation, and efficiency.
