Pei-Sung Lin, PhD, has attended several conferences this summer. He gave three presentations related to nighttime pedestrian safety and pedestrian safety at signalized intersections at the 14th Asia Pacific Transportation Development Conference and the 35th International Chinese Transportation Professionals Association (ICTPA) Annual Conference held in Taichung, Taiwan on May 27–29, 2023. He was also invited by the ICTPA as a panelist to present and discuss “The Myth of Pedestrian Hell in Taiwan” and recommend strategies and solutions.
Dr. Lin also attended ASCE’s International Conference on Transportation and Development (ICTD) held in Austin, Texas on June 14–17. He gave two podium presentations on his conference papers accepted by ASCE for publication and two poster presentations produced by his research team. His colleagues, Cong Chen, PhD, and Zhenyu Wang, PhD, also attended the ICTD as session moderators and presenters, respectively. The poster “Evaluation of High Friction Surface Treatment on Vehicle Stopping Behaviors at Signalized Intersections” presented by Dr. Wang and Dr. Lin was selected as one of the 3 top poster finalists.
Four abstracts from his ITS team including those by Dr. Wang and Yaye Keita, PhD, were accepted for presentations at the 2023 i3 Conference which will be held from July 31 until August 4, 2023, in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Lin’s abstract entitled “Improve Vulnerable Road User Safety and Maintain Vehicle Mobility via Speed Management of Traffic Signal Progression” was accepted for a podium presentation at the 2023 Joint ITE International Annual Meeting and Exhibition in Portland, Oregon on August 13–16.
This summer, Dr. Lin has conducted 13 presentations as prime or co-presenter, representing CUTR at 4 different international, national, and state conferences.
