Congratulations to Gennaro “Rino” Saliceto on his 1st place poster presentation at the International American Waste Management Association (AWMA) 2023 conference. Rino’s master’s presentation, “Community-based Assessment of Air Pollution in Childs Park, Florida: An Exploratory Study to Investigate Persistent Odors” studied the community’s ongoing concerns with odors of “fuel to chemicals and rotten eggs” (Spectrum Bay News 9).
The investigation ran studies in the neighborhood to identify the odors, and researchers lead community presentations and trainings about air quality.
