OERtransport – Enabling Transportation Planning Professional Advancement is a multi-university collaboration between the University of Texas-Arlington (UTA), California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly), and the University of South Florida (USF) to develop open educational resources for transportation education. “Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching, learning and research materials in any medium – digital or otherwise – that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits no-cost access, use, adaptation and redistribution by others with no or limited restrictions” (https://en.unesco.org/themes/building-knowledge-societies/oer).
USF faculty are currently developing an OER textbook about multimodal transportation planning. Faculty from USF include Dr. Peng Chen with the Masters of Urban and Regional Planning Program (MURP), and Kristine Williams, AICP, and Tia Boyd with the Planning and Corridor Management Program at CUTR.
Each university’s textbook will be completed and published in 2022. For more information, visit the project website at https://oertransportlab.uta.edu/ .
