The AASHTO Commuting in America (CIA) series focuses on understanding new challenges and opportunities for improved understanding of national commuting. CUTR has been awarded the brief: Understanding Geographic and Demographic Variation in Mode Choice and Travel Behavior, where the research team (Nikhil Menon, Yaye Keita, and a graduate student) will investigate the major trends in commute mode choice, trip making, and travel behavior across geographies and within demographic groups. The team will also investigate the role of traditional players and emerging transportation modes in the commuting landscape. Results from this national effort will help policymakers develop appropriate responses.
