The Center for Urban Transportation Research is teaming with the Transportation Technology Center, Inc. (a subsidiary of the Association of American Railroads) to perform research to assist the Federal Transit Administration’s Office of Research, Demonstration, and Innovation in the agency’s standards development program. TTCI brings considerable relevant experience in the development and evaluation of rail safety standards and extensive rail infrastructure, technology, and component/device testing capabilities at the 52 square mile facility that TTCI operates for the Federal Railroad Administration in Pueblo, Colorado. The project team will engage with CUTR’s Transit Standards Working Group, standard development organizations (SDOs), and advisory groups, such as FTA’s Transit Advisory Committee for Safety, in consultation with and at the direction of FTA.
