A Framework for Mobile Payment Pilot Implementation
This presentation will discuss a framework that will help transit agencies look at the different issues associated with deploying mobile fare payments. An industry scan of mobile fare technology will be presented with features of the different apps highlighted. Lessons learned from case examples* will be discussed before presenting the suggested framework. The framework details features of customer-facing mobile ticketing features as well as back office reporting, project timeline, and financial processing. The presentation will also discuss roles and responsibilities that staffs of a transit agency have to assume as well as tips to help with avoid pitfalls during deployment. Presenter: Nevine Labib Georggi, Senior Research Associate, Center for Urban Transportation Research
Nevine Labib Georggi is a Senior Research Associate with the Transportation Demand Management Team at CUTR. Ms. Georggi has a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from USF and has been employed by CUTR for 23 years. She is involved in researching the impacts of employing new technologies on public transportation systems. Other areas of expertise over the past 23 years include preparing ITS planning and integration guides, alcohol-related safety research, travel behavior, travel-related statistical analysis, and transportation survey design and analysis.
