Five Ways to Mitigate Substance Abuse in the Transportation Workplace
The USDOT testing regulations play an important role in deterring safety-sensitive employees from using prohibited drugs or mis-using alcohol, within the transportation workplace. However, an agency’s overall safety culture plays an even larger role. This session will describe five key elements of an effective drug and alcohol prevention program. Administrators, supervisors, trainers and other safety stakeholders will benefit from this discussion, which will focus heavily on proactive measures that can be taken to thwart prohibited drug use and alcohol misuse among safety-sensitive employees.
