Tampa, Fla- Today the Tampa-Hillsborough County Expressway Authority (THEA) voted to approve a contract with the University of South Florida Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) to study the implementation of autonomous vehicle technology in Hillsborough County. This follows Legislative approval in 2012 making Florida the second state in the nation to embrace autonomous vehicle technology.
