Patent Awarded: Method of Providing a Destination Alert to a Transit System Rider

Researchers from the Center for Urban Transportation Research and the USF Computer Science and Engineering Department were awarded a patent for U.S. Patent # 8,169,342 – Method of Providing a Destination Alert to a Transit System Rider – Algorithm used in the Travel Assistance Device (TAD) system to alert a transit rider when to exit the bus based on their real-time location and nearby bus stops.  Issued May 1, 2012, U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
