I’m the Director of the National Center for Transit Research (NCTR) at CUTR, one of the 22 federally funded University Transportation Centers in the United States.  In this capacity I manage the research selection process, review all reports, present results of research, produce annual reports and semi-annual performance reports of the Center’s activities, represent the Center at meetings with federal and state agencies and with peers and partners within the UTC community, develop the strategic plan for the Center and all competitive applications for continued designation as a UTC.

  • Provide guidance to all faculty engaged with NCTR research
  • Guide the project selection process and review all reports prior to publishing
  • Serve as liaison with Federal funding agencies and partners that match the federal grant
  • Ensure that NCTR complies with all reporting requirements for the federal grant received
  • Conduct original research as appropriate on a variety of transit-related topics
  • Develop NCTR’s Strategic Plan and all applications to compete for the UTC designation
  • Prepare final reports, papers, and presentations featuring completed research

  • Oversight and development of all CUTR programs addressing Public Transportation
  • Supervision and evaluation of CUTR program leaders
  • Manage all research being done for Miami-Dade County under an interlocal agreement

  • Present findings of research in multiple settings
