December 15, 2011 The Implementation and Outcomes of Fare-Free Transit Systems webcast identifies 40 transit agencies that have decided to make their entire service fare-free (not just a portion of their service such as the Central Business District). It reports on where fare-free transit systems have been successful, and the outcomes such as ridership increases and community acceptance. The webcast also reports on the results of fare-free demonstrations that were discontinued as well as analyses of whether or not fare-free transit was feasible in large communities.
