1.   To know what is going on GIS/Transit.

2.   To get a perspective on GIS in the transit industry.

3.   Technical specifications, policy discussion, directions in the field.

4.    Improve knowledge of the state of practice of the practical application of GIS to                

       transit Planning.

5.   To learn more about how to use GIS productivity in long range planning.

6.   To learn about what transit operators are doing in GIS and about what the GIS

      industry developers are offering to the transit industry.

7.   To have a greater insight to the analytical capabilities of GIS.

8.   Learn the state of art of practice in transit GIS.

9.   To have an interaction with GIS and transit planning staff to explore the needs of

      transit market.

 Other comments:

 

  1. Fewer speakers per session to allow more time for feed back.
  2. Facilities for use of laptops suggested.
  3. Presentations should be distributed on Disc/CD-ROM.
  4. Presentations by vendors not to be encouraged.
  5. Needed more in depth presentations.
  6. Like to see a larger vendor hall.
  7. Presenters should be given guidelines such as TRB.
  8. Venue or accommodation should be provided near downtown.
  9. Would like to see MapInfo & Arcveiw applications.
