CUTR receives FSITE awards

At the 1998 annual meeting of the Florida Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), held recently in Ft. Myers, CUTR and CUTR researchers received a number of awards for outstanding work:

Research Associate Mark Burris, faculty member in CUTR's Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Program, received the 1998 Young Transportation Engineer Award.

Senior Research Associates Michael Baltes and Joel Rey, faculty members in CUTR's Transit Research Program, took first place in the University Paper category of the Past President's Award competition.

Graduate Research Assistant Sunanda Dissanayake took second place in the Student Paper category of the Past President's Award competition.

CUTR received the Agency Achievement Award "in recognition of outstanding service to the Florida Section of ITE and the transportation profession."
