GIS In Transit Conference Set for August in Tampa On August 13-15, 1995, in Tampa, CUTR will convene a conference on the use of geographic information systems (GIS) in transit. Featured will be presentations by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) on its current GIS efforts. Session topics will include, among others, GIS and transit planning, database design and spatial data, trends in software technology, interaction of AVL with GIS, case studies of GIS in action, and GIS and public transportation management systems.
Speakers include Richard Simonetta, APTA; Larry Harman, EG&G Dynatrend; Walter Kulyk, FTA; Bruce Spear, Bureau of Transportation Statistics; John Espinosa, Jr., Sandia National Laboratories; Paul Toliver, Seattle Metro; Michael Dobson, Rand McNally; Kenneth Duecker, Portland State University; Paula Okunieff, Viggen Corp.; William Green, Delaware Valley RPC; Jack Reilly, Capital District Transportation Authority; Stuart Sirota, Mass Transit Administration, Baltimore; Thomas Henderson, New Mexico State DOT; and Lyna Wiggins, Rutgers University. Registration fees for the two-day conference are $195.
