Senior Research Assistant
Position # 12038
Starting Salary Range: $71,000-$76,000

Duties:
Incumbent will plan, design and conduct employer and community outreach programs, training, research, and technical assistance in support of all forms of public transportation programs and services.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, marketing, urban planning, or other appropriate area of specialization with at least 8 years of experience in public transportation or non-profit organizational membership-based agencies, specifically in the areas of program management, research, training and technical assistance
  • or a bachelor's degree and 10 years of related professional experience as described previously
  • Demonstrated success in securing contracts and grants to support public transportation or non-profit program activities

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years experience working in a university transportation research center that is mainly dependent on contracts and grants for its existence
  • Experience in preparing and conducting training for adult learners in a variety of formats, including online
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing theory and its application to the development and implementation of successful organizational membership recruitment and retention campaigns
  • Demonstrated knowledge of customer relationship management systems
  • Significant public speaking experience
  • Experience with preparing and maintaining content on websites

Special Skills/Licenses/Training/Certifications Necessary
  • Effective communicate technical issues to non-technical audience in written and oral formats
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office products


CUTR is a multidisciplinary transportation research organization in the USF College of Engineering. In addition to its 45 full-time researchers, CUTR provides direct professional work experience to more than 20 graduate student assistants each semester. Research areas include ITS, traffic operations, safety, transit, bus rapid transit, access management, TDM, training, planning, program evaluation, growth management, land use, and others.
